Juliet Stallwood, cake and biscuit maker from Semley, shares her creativity with you in her debut book, ‘The Icing on the Cake’, a step by step guide to decorating baked treats and is published this March.

At her bakery, she runs small cake and biscuit decorating classes, sharing the essential skills and techniques that she has picked up as a self-taught cake decorator. This book, she says, is an extension of that ; helping you to learn at your own pace, in your own time and in your own home.

The book contains projects for the decorating novice that are very quick and easy to do, and others that may need a bit more time and patience to master. In Chapter one, “Decorate to Indulge”, you’ll find lots of ideas for simple sweet treats for any day of the week. Chapters two and three, “Decorate for Love and Decorate to Celebrate”, are full of treats to make weddings, birthday parties and holiday festivities extra special. Chapter 4, “Decorate to Impress”, you’ll discover how to make extravagant centrepieces that will amaze your family and friends.

Whatever your level of expertise, this book will help you bring out plate after plate of beautifully decorated goodies. It’s the icing on the cake.

It is available to buy (unsigned) on Amazon, or at Waterstones or WHSmith and also outside of the UK.
